Picked this one up recently out of curiosity, I've seen the VVV marking on Greek and German weapons as well as Carcano's. If you google this marking many want to attribute it to some kind of Greek resistance saying, but it just doesn't jive to me. Does the method of marking remind anyone of the interwar German markings like the EWB and BS type markings? Even similar to the KKW and DSM stock markings? All of the weapons you find the VVV on are typical 2nd tier type weapons used by the Germans (and even on some K98k rifles). Much more research is required to figure it out, so thought I would post mine to add to the knowledge base if someone is keeping track of them. Looks to have a period sling on it? Not really up to speed on Italian slings.
