Hello everyone . . . .
I just joined up here, and have a question (one that has probably been asked before).
In Lud Olsen's Mauser book, he says the very late (1945, I guess) K98's were made WITHOUT a bolt guide rib. (The rib that turns down under the extractor).
After 54 years of playing with these . . . and other . . . . rifles, I've yet to see a '98 bolt WITHOUT said rib.
Have I just been "zigging" when the rifle was "zagging"?
Can anybody post a pic of a '98 bolt WITHOUT this rib?
Also, if such a rifle DOES exist, did the underside of the receiver bridge have the slot for the rib eliminated?
TIA, --Jim
