This is NOT an original sniper buttplate

Ok, I have a couple similar to these I have picked up over the years, one in Moscow (1996) and one from a German seller (2009), any points I should be looking for ?? Neither one was very expensive. Skid

This one is very close to the original. You can only identify it for being a fake, since it wouldn't have the checkering around the screwing holes on the inside if it were original.

Looked via google, the only image of an original one I found was this here:

that repro is blued as well. should be a red-flag. That's a real good repro and they also don't fit well.

Some original sniper buttplates appeared on Yugo reworked K98k's, they were then also reblued. So blueing isn't necessarily always a feature of a fake sniper buttplate.

You can *ONLY* identify originals by looking on the inside of a buttplate! Pictures from the outside are worth NOTHING!

Hello,

I am high bidder currently, for the price of repro's that look half as good I wanted to try and get it. new it was a repro but way better than most out there.
