SWP45 SMRS 79126a

Young Mike
Picked up this SMRS around a month ago in the wrong stock and I was able to find a correct Brunn SKM stock for it (sadly lightly sanded and looks to have had something put on it at some point). Whatever the person who owned this previously put in the markings to highlight them has been a PITA to remove; much harder than the normal chalk or wax pencil. Please forgive the large amount of ballistol on some of the metal & wood from trying to remove the highlighting.

I've wanted a SMRS gun for a while and am will now search for the much scarcer standard rear sight SWP45.

Great rifle! Always wanted a sheet metal sight rifle. Bolt looks to be phosphate and the rest is blued? Also very cool that the front band and the band screws are the early type, the closed band with no band spring hole and the regular slotted screws seem more common on the later Brunn KM's

Very cool piece! Did you notice the faint inscription on the right side of the cupped buttplate??? I wonder what this could be??!!

My pics of the bolt were less than stellar and the remnants of the white filler were making the bolt look phosphate. The bolt body, shroud, and cocking piece are blued while the safety is phosphate.

I too like the early type screws/band!

It looks to me like initials “JAC”. Maybe the guy who brought it back or someone who carved his initials on his guns in case of theft?
