Sturmtruppen Alpine special forces Kar98a carbine.

Warrior1354

ax - hole
You know when I first saw this carbine for sale my mind was blown to pieces. The rarity is unbelievable. For one the stock proofs! This is the large font stock variation type. These stocks are stamped on the side like this. As well as the underside too. Taking a closer look you realize this rifle was built late in 1918. Why? Well lack of reading glasses for factory workers. Because of that the font stamps were made to be larger. Made it easier for the workers to mark these stocks. And just look at that sling cut out it! Looks like it was done yesterday too. And what's this! It's also designed for the Gewehr 98 sling too! My god it was built for the Alpine mountain troops. The ability to use two different styles of slings is a major tactical advantage in combat. I'm just glad such a rare gem was saved for the Reichswehr in the 1920s. After all these are a very advanced weapon. Of course the best would be saved for the German military. Finally this rifle is sporting a Polish stacking hook. Most likely that was a captured part after Germany invaded Poland in 1939. I'm thinking this was depot rebuilt for the SS now. That buy now price of $1456.98 is way too cheap. That price should be mcdouble. Maybe 7 by 7 like Steak and shake.

The guy stamping those cartouches really did need those glasses, look at how he struck the stamps off center on the heel! That Polish stacking rod is the cherry on top.

Woof..... That thing has all sorts of red flags on it. I love that the c/Z is above the cypher. 🤣 And the guy stamped the same large cartouches on the keel too....just bad all around. Stevie Wonder could see that was fake.

Fascinating! I didn’t know IKEA was around during the Great War to make stocks out of their famous ikea-wood.

Wonder if you can buy the hand guards separately? Might be a good alternative when you have a jacked up 98a hand guard.
