This recently acquired B series SM is an earlier manufacture, I believe 1935, but was residing in a later SM stock with wide lower band and K98k style band retaining spring. Those later parts will be used to return the 7mm I posted earlier to correct configuration.
while I had it apart I thought I would post the barrel receiver marks for those who track these.
The most interesting mark to me was the 156,14 barrel gauge marking. The only other rifles I recall seeing this on are my two blank sidewall SMs.
Other barrel markings are pretty standard. The b,g,u,n commercial proofs, 7.9 bore marking and a Weimar inspection Eagle.
