Here is a really nice SS Double Claw Scope. I hope it is enjoyed by all. Nice close ups of the serial numbers and everything. I have not even wiped it off yet. Thanks goes to Dave and Brian for the help procuring it. All I have to do now is find a rifle it fits on. Best regards.

hi are you sure it is an warscope? look at the ugly dow + stamping ? it isn't straight..... mabie that is a postwar chech fake....i'm not sure..there are more stamps on the claws ?
fit it with a bnz 4 or bnz 43 rifle without a suffix...

Yes I am sure. That is the way they were stamped.

I have always thought that that scope and mount system was especially attractive. Hope you get it mounted on something nice. Thanks for posting.

Brian, nice scope. It looks to be original to me. Thanks for the good pictures. Don't let some here discourage you from continuing to share your items.

This is very typical of how Dow markings are on War time scopes it`s thought that the W was made with a V stamp . this why it appears sloppy . Best Regards

I have 2 LSR DOW scopes that suffer from the same unaligned stamp markings. Fritz and Willy probably stayed to long at the Beer Garden! Really nice find. Hope you find a k98 for it.

Regards, Al

Brian You have a screw loose !!!!!!!!!! No, not You in particular . But the Dow Scope , look at last photo little screw on right side just behind the Ring with White Line for indicating which range marker your scope is on .

Dave,

You are correct I will get right on that. Don't worry I did not take it personally. Nice catch.

Hello
regarding that dow DC scope without focus at the back, how can one make the difference between a true SS WW2 scope and a post war Czech scope using original german parts ?
what is your opinion about that ?
best regards

Thanks

Thanks guys for the nice remarks. It is no big deal. It is mostly pointless any way. :googlie

I would say if Brian would let himself discourage by my remarks, he would really be a Sissy. Matter of factly, I am beginning to think that the only threads interesting are those which bear (also) some kind of movement, apart from the usual I present some stuff, others applaude and then the thread ends. As for the scope, it is one of the few Type II ones which has seen actually action in WWII. I have also one, some numbers apart, from the SS-Scharfschützenschule Hallein in Austria, where the SS Gebirgsjäger snipers were trained. Matter of factly I have 2 type I from this school also. No, I do not present any pics, for the same reason why Dave does not post his expensively (when I was second best bidder) acquired sniper photos. Because they are intended for a publication.
