Sure. I posted to share them and I am selling one to a friend. As far remove or changes goes. I will do whatever I want within the rules.Nice scopes Brian. I don’t know what’s cooler, the SS double claw of SS short side rail.
It’s funny how single claws and double claws have the opposite issue. While none are easy to find, we see SS double claw scopes for sale but rarely the rifles. Meanwhile we see single claw rifles for sale but never scopes.
Thanks for sharing a good idea to start a thread tracking these scopes for people to match up. As long as you promise to not delete your posts Brian. Otherwise it becomes pointless. Lol
I think the movement may be from recoil.Georg, how many of your rings have been adjusted/moved like Brian's middle example? I have seen this on others and believe it from when they were mounted.
If that was the case wouldn't the rear ring have moved also? Plus, I have only ever seen the front ring moved/adjusted like this.I think the movement may be from recoil.
Yes for two of the scopes. One is the one for rifle #18869C. I don't think so. IMHO these scopes were supplied with a specially prepared (thicker?) area where the scope rings are supposed to be sitting. This can also be encountered with unmounted Argentine Zeiss Zielvier scopes; a thicker part where the rings would sit. With the dow+ there must had been some misscorrespondance with the placement of the bases on the receiver.I think the movement may be from recoil.
I thought these were done at an arms depot and not at waffenfabrique Brunn.Yes for two of the scopes. One is the one for rifle #18869C. I've posted some time ago here: https://www.k98kforum.com/threads/focal-adjustment-ss-double-claw-dow.53144/

Another possibility would be that they were supplied already with rings fitted and they for whatever reason failed to keep the same distance and therefore had to be adjusted at Waffenwerke Brünn during fitting the rifles with the bases (since I am sure the SS would rather have the scopes worked upon a second time than to make differences in the base spacing).
This is the theory I believe.
