SS bayonet frog.

Found this. Same stamp. Fake SS strap. Fake stamp.
Maybe forum member, Slash will comment with more information. He knows about frogs and leather items. A couple of more pics would be nice. Show the whole frog front and back.

Problem by this frog is that was repaired and in wrong way added secure strap, visible new stitching in the area of strap, anyway similar SS stamps on frogs exist but i couldnt confirm this is ok, but here was repaired even the right rivet.

That’s an example of original markings if I remember correctly. I had one like that in the past that was also 419 coded. In circles are VA and SS.

Personally when i see the date on the upper stamp also 38 believe its fake, because in 1938 didnt used steel rivets on frogs, which are the lower one and they are period.

The OP frog is not for my collection. As already described the marking has been faked and applied to many items. The frog here is a late type circa 1943 or '44 and the stamping is too early to be original. Andrej is correct on the steel rivets as well. Coupled with the fact that the frog has been messed with makes it a no go. My thoughts only .....

So, original `43-`44 frog that has been altered and enhanced with fake SS RZM stamp. In answer to your question on value. You would`nt be able to sell it to a collector of frogs unless he just wanted an example of a faked frog. There are guys who do that, I am just not one of them and can`t speak for any of the other guys here. Maybe $40 and that could be pushing it. List it on Ebay for what it is, it could go for more.
