Spandau 1916

Hi Everyone,

Last year, I reluctantly used my old Spandau 1916 as partial trade fodder for a 1912 WMO. At the end of last year I ended up finding a suitable replacement for it. While a common rifle, this one has some interesting depot intricacies that I haven't encountered before. First of which, is the numbering of the bolt ball to match the receiver serial number, I believe this was done at Mainz. This rifle subsequently went through Köln where the '6' on the buttplate was canceled. They proceeded to grind the original number off the bolt root and renumber it to match the receiver. In other words, the bolt ball and the bolt root match the receiver. This is the first time I've seen something like this. Otherwise, it's a run of the mill midwar Spandau and good shape. If you look at the photo forward of the barrel band in the second post, you can see where it took a small shrapnel strike that impacted the barrel and stock.
