Hello from Maryland! I use the same username on many forums and since I have not yet owned a Mauser I this is my first post. I have been lurking here the entire week trying to get some information on a few purchases but I thought I would introduce myself. I am 35 and just got into the C&R Hobby/Expense last year. As a result I have become addicted and spend more money than I ever imagined on firearms. I will say that this new addiction has encouraged me to find out more about my family history and involvement in WWII and Vietnam as well.
I met a guy locally to look at and purchase my first M1 Carbine about a month ago. His cousin had a ton of firearms that were left behind by her father and she has no interest in keeping any of them. I picked up my 1943 Inland and she pulled out about 5 Mauser's and a few Lee Endfields as well. I made a deal to pick up two Mauser's today and although I have some very poor pictures of them I think I should be alright. One is a K98 CE 44 and the other is a Turkish Mauser 1941. I learn a lot faster when I have a rifle to study so I will be posting some pictures and asking some questions.
I hope to learn a lot from you guys in the future and may pick up some of her other Mauser's pending how I do with these.
Eric
