scope mount for rln "ZF K43/1" scope

Among a rifle (funnily a bcd coded rifle) I had the chance to pick one of the original mounts the owner had, I decided to go for this one which I liked for featuring a bzz coded scope, as well as having the lowest rifle serial that I had ever seen on a ZF4 scope mount - it originally was mounted on rifle #7. The acceptance stamp on the right side by the way reads as Eagle 214 (unfortunately I noticed when resizing the pictures that it is almost not visible in the pictures I had taken, wrong angle and light position - will do a better one where this is visible later).

Coming home I then noticed the mount had been professionally milled between the two "arms" - a quick comparison confirmed that this therefore would correspond to those rln coded ZF K43/1 scopes. This, in my point of view, would also perfectly correspond to the extremely low rifle serial number on the mount, at least if I may assume that an experimental scope may also had been used on an experimental rifle which therefore could have had a very low serial (might even had been 7th rifle ever made which still was at the testing facility and got this mount mated to years later, I don't know, just saying, that this IMHO would sound reasonable).

So despite the scope now being incorrect to this mount I am still happy to have picked this one since I assume it is easier to find a rln coded ZF K43/1 scope than to find a mount for one - at least the scopes get described correctly more often than the mounts. In case anyone here has one or knows of one for sale, then please do let me know.

You might be able to make one of the post war ZF4's the Bundeswehr used on the G1 rifles work. It's VERY close to the ZF K43/1. They aren't easy to find either but if I have two, they can't be THAT hard to find. They can also be had for a reasonable amount of geedus.

Hello collectors, I once got a mount like that too. The owner was an 80-year-old rifleman and he told me that his father brought this mount back from the war on a K98. I can't say whether that's true or not, but he sounded very honest. I gave my mount to Claus Espoholt at the time and he was also of the opinion that this mount was made for the ZFK43/1 because the milling looked very professional and original. My mount had the number 4078 and I can't say whether that's a high or low number, but I can definitely say that the modern Bundeswehr rifle scope doesn't fit because the two adjustment wheels are swapped around. It's not identical to the rln scope, as I also own that. I've only seen an original RLN rifle scope at an auction once in my life and it went for almost $10,000.
