Bontgen & Sabin marked blade , no year on spline , and Solingeh mostly under cross guard. Did they not put the years on these or got missed , 20250306_183242.jpg20250306_183309.jpg]433390[/ATTACH]

Yes part of it is definitely under the cross guard, so really my question should be , was this a re used blade with no date also , I wouldn't think they would stamp the moto before it was put together, or I'm I over thinking 🤔

The makers mark was stamped pre-assembly. The date could be under the cross guard. I have seen a few that were not dated though.

Nothing strange here, is blank deliverer by the Boentgen and Sabin, Solingen, finisher was some unknown maker in area of Berlin as G inspector proofed on pommel, on blade spine is C for Solingen. By some years there was not acceptance date stamped, could be 1915/16. So when stamped on blade the maker stamp they stamped too low and by finisher then it was covered with crosspiece by assembly, similar pieces by J.A.Henckels exist too.
