S84/98 III mine detector.

Here are pics of my S/155 36. Bayonet is matching with a 1943 dated frog. Finish is hi-gloss as is typical for Horster at the time. Almost did not buy this one because of the wear on the end of the blade, but did so anyway...

Hello,
For a bayonet dated 1936 and which had a long career, it is not surprising to see a lack of tanning on its point.
The mint remains very rare in these early years. And if he is only looking for new, better get the 1944.... models that are easier to find. This Horster is very beautifu !

I once witnessed a German vet demonstrate how they put up zeltbahnen. He took a bayonet attached it to a rifle and proceeded to stick the whole bayonet up the the muzzle in the ground. He then stated this was the same height as the useless tent poles provided.

They got gear that didn't work to!! Lol thanks for sharing the story :)
