I`d been watching that one. I figured that`s all I would be doing, is watching. I was also watching a couple of stag handle Ks98`s he had. Both were nice. The unmarked one went for $154, about what it was worth and the Puma for $222. Puma anything usually brings more than other makers unless that maker is uber rare.
 
Behoerden S84/98s have slowly been coming into their own for decades. I recall a time when "if it did not have a WaA on it", collectors (in the main) were disinterested... but no longer. As for the example in the OP, maybe the excessive price paid for the piece was the result of a couple nouveau collectors getting way out ahead of themselves...
 
Since a Arnaud page and Bruce book in period use so similar Behoerden bayonets mainly here Railway police were corectly determined and most probably increased in the value, already a police ACS or AWS is not possible buy in normal range. Same as PWCo are not cheap.
