RC K98? Question

Im looking at a RC DOU 45. X on top of reciever. Waffens seem intact. HF dou on barrel. Rifeling is strong. Only Reciever and stock actually match. All else is force matched. But the sight ladder has numbers on top and bottom like an older rifle? The stock is in good shape. It has the H style cap and flat not cup but plate. I dont think it is laminate but it is very dark. Waffen, Mod 98, X and dou 45 all on top of receiver. Sound correct? They want $650 for it.

Im concerned because the reciever is a 45 But the sight (Numbers on bot sides) and stock (H cap and flat butt plate, metal disc) seem early? Does than make sense?

strong rifling and good stock...yes 650 is very good I think

Nothing is original matching on RC’s, they were assembled from random parts by the Russians after they disassembled all the guns and threw everything in piles to be refinished. So every part is from a different rifle.

The stock most likely doesn't "match". It's force matched as well. I assume the stock serial number is on the left side of the butt?

That's a Russian applied SN. $650 is good for an RC and is about what they should be priced at.

For a while I saw RC's going for $800 or a little more. They seem to have settled down to $650. Which to me seems like a fair price. I have bought two at that price over the last year. Make sure it has a good bore then snap it up.

As far as the receiver and barrel go, you may go a long time without seeing a NON RC dou45. Maybe most got captured by the Russians and/or were lost on the Eastern front? I think it sounds like a good price.
