Radom VIS

Picked up this pistol about a month ago. Got it for a good price and very happy with it. Its an early model that still has the stock slot. Some wear on the finish but I don't mind at all. Just nice to have one of these pistols.

Yes, the slot was phased out first E block. Most do not have it. I agree, a nice example.

Anyone with theories on that type finish loss. I have a first A block with the same type finish loss. Of course blood it the theory I hear the most. Any other opinions.

That type of finish loss seems to apply all the way into the last series. Seems that lots of p35's exhibit this. I'd say it has more to do with the finish process itself and less to do with blood.

I agree that the long term holster storage is a very likely cause. Mine was stored in such a way and has similar splotchy finish loss especially on the bottom of the frame.
