Question about Portuguese contract K98k

Good evening everyone!

For a long time I own a deactivated Mauser k98k that was lying around forgotten.

To be honest, the weapon is no longer in good condition. But since it holds many family memories, I kept it.
Today I took a closer look at the piece.
The stock i guess is from the Portuguese Mauser K98k contract (1937), all the metal parts on the stock, the maghousing and the wooden parts are all numbered with the same number. I was also able to find WaA 63 stamps on the stock.
The barrel, the receiver and the sight base, on the other hand, are stamped with “42”, “1939”, "7,9" and several “WaA 63” stamps.
The bolt is numbered the same, but does not match the barrel/action.

What surprises me is the “hook mount” attached to the bottom of the barrel, which is located about 30 cm from the muzzle.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
A “pocket” seems to have been specially created in the stock to accommodate this “hook mount”.

I have attached some pictures of the carabiner for clarification.

I would be grateful for any information that could help here.

Thank you
