Pretty nice VIS Radom

Absolut

Got this Radom VIS recently, H block. I assume this is a first series, isn't it? The blueing is still super nice, barrel also matching numbers. It is somewhat weird that the proof stamps in the slide are super deep struck on the left side and almost fainting on the right side of the inscription, but I've seen that on other Radom VIS pistols as well.

Very nice high quality pistol, Congrats!
That fellow stamping the frame must have used an awful heavy hammer.
I have seen this on many pistols.

Nice pistol and it is definitely a 1st Series pistol. The underside of the slide should have a matching serial number also.....

My very first Radom was a 1st series, H-block piece in 95% condition w/holster and spare mag. Guy was walking around with it at a Great Western Fair show in 1976 and I paid $65.00. Sold all my Radoms off by 1981 or so to get a down payment for my first home...

All type ones have three levers. The third lever was phased out in Z block. The finger scallops, like M1911A1 vs M1911, were phased out in first K block. Polish and finish were also noticeably also lessened again then. My first F has a very nice finish.

I helped a friend get a first H at SOS and a two lever, a second C IIRC, as well. Radoms are hot now. They are my favorite WW2 German pistol. Of course, that seems logical for a M1911 and A1 collector and lover.

Nice one and congratulations.
