A little question about the surface treatment, this p38 has a very smooth and much neater finish than my byf 44. I don't know if it's its original finish or a post-war "restoration".
Refinished for sure. AC41 should have a gloss finish. It is a first variation with the AC on the trigger guard, this dissappears shortly after A block I think, perhaps B I need to look it up
As mentioned, probably the clearest indicator that this pistol has seen a refinish. That pin, arguably the most difficult to remove blue from because it is staked into the barrel, should never, ever be blued on a Walther or Mauser P38.
Cool gun refinished or not. AC41 is a cool code and these were among the best made P38s with markings all over. The AC on the trigger guard stands out when comparing against others.
