P38 ac41

New to mi collection, a p38 ac41

A little question about the surface treatment, this p38 has a very smooth and much neater finish than my byf 44. I don't know if it's its original finish or a post-war "restoration".

Yes I believe it has been reblued at least once

After some research i found pics of very early ac41 with same finish. Seems legit to me

In my opinion, the pistol has been refinished.

Definitely a reblue the early walther p38 had really nice bluing plus the s and f should be colored white and red

Looks refinished. The pin for locking block should be in the white.

Refinished.... the three proofs on the right side of the slide were applied on top of the finish... these have been blued over.

Refinished for sure. AC41 should have a gloss finish. It is a first variation with the AC on the trigger guard, this dissappears shortly after A block I think, perhaps B I need to look it up

As mentioned, probably the clearest indicator that this pistol has seen a refinish. That pin, arguably the most difficult to remove blue from because it is staked into the barrel, should never, ever be blued on a Walther or Mauser P38.

Cool gun refinished or not. AC41 is a cool code and these were among the best made P38s with markings all over. The AC on the trigger guard stands out when comparing against others.
