Odd bcd/ar 42 dual code : French capture ?

Hi everyone,

I came across a strange rifle: waffenamt stamps removed from the receiver, odd marking on the stock RF K 72, H front band, font of the serial number (2565) not original.

I compared with these ones:

The receiver code is shallow, receiver has probably been polished and reblued.

You know I'm in France. Usually RF is a known acronym for "République Française".
Have any of you ever seen this kind of marking on a buttstock ?

Here are the only pics I have:

The stock below the cartouche looks to have been repaired. The laminate is out of place.

Thanks guys, I know that the rifle is very far from its original configuration. @Aaron : I did not see the backwards front sight ! It is quite possible that Bubba played with it. The sling is a brand new repro.

However I was mainly curious about the stamp RF K 72. And the fact that usually Bubba is quite proud of notzi eagles and don't polish them off.

Does anyone have pictures of those G43 with an R stamp rumored to come from Indochina ? Can't find any on the forum.

Here is a depot build k98k that I used to own with the remnants of this infamous "R" stamp. Doesnt show you much, other then maybe the size and proportions of the stamp.
