Numbering detail "duv" bolt

Hallo,

while cleaning up my new shooter - parts gun I noticed an intersting detail in numbering of the bolt.

The bolt itself is WaA 214 marked (in my opinion), unfortunately the gun is mismatch in all parts so I can`t tell it assuredly.

What do you think about the "3":

- a "3" made from a "8"
- a damaged "8"
- just a "3"

Viele Grüße, best regards,

Georg

I think the stamp should be an 8 or started as an 8. I have 5 k98k with 3 in the serial,
And all have the other type of three with the flat on top. Same with my p38. Only fully rounded 3 is on an ac45 k43, but still different then that.

I agree with CanadianAR I think that it is a broken 8, the two 8s look too be from the same die.

Hallo,

thank you for your opinion.

I had hoped, there are some pieces for compairson out there. I was interested if there is a pice which combines a real "3" or a real "8" with the damaged die I shown.

The letters theirselves are "duv" style, bud I don`t have a K98k from this maker, only G43`s and there are the dies without this "damage".

Best regards, viele Grüße

Georg

Hello,

I believe not a broken 8 just a hard stuck 3 and you missed the proof of a E/N proof for commercial use or other but present. probably a reused bolt and reissued from 1 reason or another.
