New to the forum posting a BYF 41

I happened to meet Bruce K. this weekend at my brother Jeff's house and I promised him I would post this rifle. I picked this BYF 41 up about two years ago from a neighbor of a veteran who had passed away. According to the neighbor the Vet picked it up at the Battle of the Bulge, no further information. The gun serial 427, no prefix, is all matching with the exception of the bandspring.

Bruce - Thank you for the books! I devoured about 40 pages of Kriegsmodell Saturday night after you left. Hope you arrived safely home and it was a pleasure to meet you.

I have a few more pics if I can figure out how to add them.

Regards
Dave

Super nice unmolested example. Thanks to you and Bruce for the post.

Welcome to the forum.

To the K98 collector that rifle is about like a parkerized RS or WB inspected M1911A1 with matching slide in 95% plus condition and small G barrel to us 1911 collectors.

Thank you Mike. This is my one and only K98 so I had to make it good. I collect 1911s and German pistols for the most part. Of course, like most collectors I am always on the look out for good deals and this one certainly fit the bill.

Welcome. Very nice and very early byf41. Is the front sight base cut for a sight hood?

Great BYF 41 , I never get sick of seeing these early ones . The workmanship is second to none .
Best Regards

Bring it on down so I can add it to the collection, Dave. In doing so we can get Bruce out of the hot seat.
