New to Me - Possible German Rework Vz24

Attached are photos of a rifle recently in my possession. It appears to be a Vz24 that went through german hands at some point.

Due to the front barrel band being cemented on either by force or by grease I have not yet been able to look under the wood unfortunately.

It does have a firing proof on it as well as a number of renumbered parts. Oddly the bands remain unmarked.

The screw for the rear band was replaced with a flathead screw, I do find that interesting, it otherwise looks standard.

The bolt components have extremely faint electrolenciling done on them, the most obvious of the electropenciling being on the shroud. The firing pin is unmarked aside from the czech Z proof. The bolt handle has definitely been restamped.

Are there any recommendations for safely removing the white paint fill without damaging the gun or is it best to leave it be once it is already done?
