Yes, that’s a dot 1944. Looks refinished.

It happened all the time that stamp dies were slightly offset when stamping and it caused a partial stamp. The rifle is 100% refinished. The shiny bolt is definitely a sign of a Mitchell's...

certainly need more photos and ones that enlarge

maybe review the cheep versions found at gun shows.... It also show Mitchells attributes.

Bolt just looks worn to me not polished like a Mitchel's Mauser but maybe a little worked over. Plus I do not see the "asterisk" in this one pic for a RC/MM. Maybe just painted. Need more pics.
