Hey Guys, Had a guy bring over a few bayos the other day for me to take to the SOS and sell. He dumped this one out on the table and I decided to grab it for myself. It's a 44pyy with a mismatched scabbard, but still in excellent condition. hope you like it.

Nice find! I have one as well. Also in a mismatched scabbard, but it's a pyy scabbard. You don't find these often.

Question remains what for wood is here on grips? , the piece is certainly interesting because 44pyy anyway the condition is probably not excellent.

Here are a few more photos. The blade has a deeper heavy grain to it and is unaltered. No sharpening evident and the cutting edge was not finished well. The grip screws look like they weren't countersunk properly as they both stick up out of the grip a bit.

It looks like the metal has been wet sanded to me. Grips have definitely been off and messed with. Still a rarer blade.

Yes the countersunk were done, dissasembled, the scabbard is a missmatch. Blade was cleaned from rust probably by heavy tool, by this was removed remains of blueing and rough mashining, some is still in fuller. personally i dont like the grips material, but it could be replacement.

I think the grips are original, likely just sanded hard…..the cut out for the drain is a bit odd on these, and my agv and pyy are the same. Slightly long. Kinda square tip.

Strange is the countersunk are not corectly screwed into, the shape of cleaning hole is rectangular and the material of wood is not nutwood. In case they used different wood by Berg it could be replacements, but the countersunk should be normally screwed into grips.

Hi guys, as promised, here is my example for comparison

There is no sanding on the grips, because of dark on surface. The hole for cleaning of cleaning rod channel was done with a normal saw.
