Just pick this up a gun show trying to find some information about it? 1916 Danzig gew98, Polish stock and German sights and the bolt has a clover ☘️ stamped on the bottom of it. Here are some photos. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It could be one of the Polish exports for the Spanish Civil War. Looks quite similar. I'm only surprised by the front sight, usually, they got typical Polish sights.

What are the markings on the barrel and bolt? Also, is the rear sight graduated 100-2000 or 300-2000? The clover leaf makes me think that the cocking piece is of Polish origin. G29/40s were made from wz.29 receivers iirc which this one clearly is not.

here are some more photos.
The sights are wwii german marked, the barrel has only a few marks on it.

No sign of a German firing proof on the receiver, so would guess a Gew 98 rebuilt by somebody (not the Germans) from parts into the K98k pattern then fitted to a Polish Wz 29 stock with a modified handguard.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking it was put together with parts but you never know. Still a good shooter to take to the range.
Thanks, Mike
