This sidearm is from the family of a WWII veteran. Claims he brought it back.
This appears to be a 1914 design Mauser. The only markings are the S/N, the Mauser information on the slide, and a crown "U" inspection stamp. It has the last three digits of the S/N on the firing pin housing. It is missing the firing pin.
No expert on these, but this appears to be a real odd ball pistol compared to all of the information and images available of this design. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
