The North Pole left a yellow note on my door today. I was going to get a P1, but decided the money was better spent on getting a real P38 and work towards the trifecta of AC, byf, and cyq. Here is a Walther P38 from the middle of July, 1943. These are the dealer's pictures. I figured I'd use theirs as I couldn't do any better myself. Pistol is 93-95% with a great bore. Pistol had a correct e359 magazine and I also got a second one. Cost was less than two P1s. Next year I'll look for the byf. As my cyq is 98-99%, this one will get more action.
I also traded my 75% 11/42 3rd variation Mauser HSC to this same dealer for a 97% 1/43 4th variation for a modest fee. To round out our dealings I finally found a pre-war black finger tip magazine for my Walther PP.
