My little Haenel Schmeisser model 1

Tiger 2 Tank

Senior Member
Hello,

I picked up a darn near mint Schmeisser model 1 pistol the other day. It’s so mint that the brown grease is all in it, matching numbers on all components and about the only wear is at the trigger where it goes in and out if the frame and a hint at the front edges. Very low serial number. ‘Bout the only way to get better is that if it had the box and manual. The grip screw isn’t even jacked up as so many are. Sorry, no photos of it taken apart. I didn’t want to go into it.

I wanted to show it with my Sauer & Son (not Sohn as some are marked) model 1913, which is darn near mint as well. I’ve had the 1913 since 2014. I wasn’t able to get it, but if you get these two in the right light, both have a purple hue to them. Really neat to see.

Neat things about the little pistol: You have to have the safety on to remove the mag. You can’t put the weapon on FIRE with the mag out. The mag has a little area at the bottom to assist in disassembly of the pistol. It appears to have a crowned barrel end. And, it’s heavier than what I thought. Neat little chunk of metal in your hand.

Neither the little Schmeisser or Sauer have export marks (“GERMANY”) on them.

These two really go well with each other:

Fantastic!!! Congratulations on a real beauty....

I’ve got a 1913 3rd Variant and a wonderful ‘miniature’ 1919....Merry Christmas!

EDITED TO ADD: I just bought this for my Sauer but it was advertised for your pistol or a Browning 1906. The measurements, hopefully, will let it fit my 1919 but if not I’ll let you know...[emoji6]

Beautiful pieces. I still find it amazing they've survived 100+ years in this condition. Well done.

Yeah, no kidding on the 100 year survival. Incredible that it looks like that after so long.

That holster is really nice.

I get so used to seeing "mint" weapons on the internet that are crap, it is a real pleasure to see by-God MINT examples.
Thanks for sharing!

That's the truth! 'Mint", 'museaum quality', 'impossible to upgrade'... Often it's more of a joke than reality.
