My James River sniper repro for your scrutiny.

To preface my narrative, I didn't buy her. My dad purchased her from James River (maybe 2008?) when they were selling them, and I inherited it when he passed a few years ago. I ended up calling James River and was informed that they took really nice RCs with decent barrels to do the sniper conversion. I finally got around to taking the scope/mount off to see who made it about a week ago and it turns out to be a 1944 Gustloff Werke with what looks like a FN barrel on her. She's a real good shooter but feel free to rip her apart. ;) Any input on what parts are forced match would also be cool.

I'm pretty sure all the numbers are force matched. In the first couple pics it seems to have a copper colored tint to the metal, almost like the copper head gasket spray.

If it shoots good that's great and it is what it is.

That’s what I was thinking. I think the only original numbers is the receiver and the sight base.
