My first Simson - with two matching numbers mags

Finally was able to find a Luger P.08 that comes with two original matching numbers magazines - and even better, it is a Simson & Co Suhl made P.08! It even came with its original 1936 dating Holster, made by a Berlin company and seems to had been painted black, which is already fainting. Inside parts are also all matching, including the grips - I checked it when I bought it. But didn't find time to picture this as well.

Looking forward to comments on it - and yes, it still needs a very good cleaning to remove the dirt it had seen from being stored in its holster since WWII. Previous owner by the way told me according to the origin it should be a former Feldgendarmerie pistol, carried by someone on a horse.

Thanks for the compliments, quite happy on it myself! They don't get much better than this - well, aside of a Krieghoff with two matching magazines. But who knows, maybe some day one will turn up. They'd be a good pair :biggrin1:

Nice straw color on the trigger, safety and take-down,
That’s usually the first to fade. Thinkin that gun survived from that early date and Havin 2 mags matched is just Not common.
Nice holster too
Looks great

Nice

Great find, I like the two (required) acceptance stamps on the bottom of the stock lug. Nice chapter on Simpson Lugers in “Police Lugers” by Tinker and Gruber, pages 137-159.

Congrats! Scarcest maker, condition, and two matching mags! You would probably need a time machine to find another Simson rig like this. Simson Lugers by Ed Tinker is a good read.
