Early ZF4 mount as well! Didn’t know this kind of variation existed!

That may not be for the ZF4. Possibly the optical device to let a tank crewman to view and shoot from inside the tank

If you make it to Germany try to go to Koblenz, you can easily spend all day. They have 4 floors of military small arms

Ok I looked at the Sturmgewehr book, the sight assembly intended for tank use does not mount to the rail. It clamps to the rifle. So the right side rail probably was intended for the ZF4.

The receiver still retains the curved rear end, as expected for an early era MP43/1
