Need to id this sling. I bought it shortly after receiving my first model SMG FG42, with the intention of scavenging the fittings to make a sling.
There are no proofs that I see on the fittings or the leather. Is this possibly a Luft item or a post war item? If it is a Luft sling then it is probably the same fittings that were used on original FG42 slings. The sling is very nice and I am having a hard time bring myself to destroy it for the fittings.
