Mauser WTP pistols

Tiger 2 Tank

Senior Member
Hello,
I just picked up a little Mauser WTPI pistol from Legacy Collectibles. I think it is a later variant of this gun and wanted to show some differences in it with some of my other pistols. I checked the serial number on the gun with several gun websites and found a prior owner of this little pistol. After making contact, I learned that this little pistol had come from an estate sale where the prior owner had it for many years. He told me the vet that had returned from the war, took it from a business in Germany. No documentation or anything, just a story.

It’s in really nice shape. Almost zero wear on it. I didn’t know the Mauser WTPI and Mauser WTPII had such a size difference between the two. It appears Mauser redesigned the magazine as well to make the WTPII smaller, along with the rest of the design changes.

I included another earlier produced WTPI mag to show some differences.

I haven’t gotten rid of the white stuff in the letters. I just left everything alone.

Yeah, once you start getting into these little pocket pistols they become hard to resist. You begin making a sub-collection of them. I started with one ‘45 dated DUO rig that had bring back papers and that turned into a whole collecting category now.

Of course you start seeing really cute and pretty little Mauser 1910/34’s and they have to be included in the mix too.

What is the purpose of the device at the rear of the trigger housing in the 4th picture? Slide release?

Beautiful looking Mausers, an great pictures.I also like the pocket pistols.WTP1 s/n 36054,WTP11 s/n 70025. I have an odd .25 steyr automobile pistol
made in 1924, an I believe these were given away as a promotion with a new steyr car.

Thanks! That’s interesting. I had no idea they did that. Yet another one I’ll probably have to get for the collection.

Looks like three excellent ones you have!

By looks, I think I like the back screw better than the two screw system of holding the plastic grip onto the gun. Less complicated.

Your WTP II is kinda getting close to mine by serial number.

I see you like 34's, here are my two. s/n 551427 police (2 matching mags) an s/n546338 navy (with" not english make "stamp).
They are kinda ugly but cool... like an old AMC pacer car I once had. ED

Oh yeah. I have a really nice commercial 1934. The one photographed with the WTP’s is a 1910/34 (6,35 caliber). They are boxy and unnaturally “ugly” in appearance, but they are so neat. Only a true Mauser collector could love them. They really improved the looks of them with the later “blacker” blueing and the curved back strap on the grip.

Nice 34s that you have, which property number does your 34 navy have?
