Matching numbers K98 safety broken in shipping PLEASE HELP

So yesterday I picked up an all matching 1938 S/42 at my FFL and when I unpacked it I found that the safety was broken, apparently this is a common issue when they're shipped with the bolt in the rifle. Is there anyway this could be repaired? I ordered another one just for functionality sake but being that the rifle is in incredible condition and an all matching bring back rifle I'm sick over this and really want the original piece repaired as cleanly as possible. Is there anyway this can be nicely repaired? I've emailed a few high-end gunsmiths but haven't heard back yet

Dave Roberts knows a guy who can. He fixed one of mine, and its a really good job. You will need to get the bluing touched up after though.
 
Well guys I am feeling significantly better after reading this, even if the repair isn't strong enough to be functional I want to at least have it for display and collectability.
 
For further reference, the pieces broke very cleanly and fit back together almost seamlessly. If done correctly how good would it look and would the repair be durable enough to be functional?

Best check with Andy on that depending on how he processes the welding.
As for finish, the part will look good.
 
When Andy is done welding it , it will be as good as new and functional . If You have a spare safety include it with the broken one so he has one for side by side comparison . If You don't let me know when You send off the broken one and I can bring Andy a spare one of mine .

Hey guys, the safety is currently on it's way to Andy now, thanks everyone for all the helpful information. I'll post pictures of the repair upon return before sending it to be refinished.
 
Hello all, slightly delayed but just wanted to post an update on the whole safety repair. Andy was absolutely phenomenal to work with, the work was done very fast and is absolutely incredible! I hope nobody else ever has to use his services for this, but if so, you're in very good hands! Thank you every one who took the time to help me out!
