Definitely a unique one when it comes to axis pistols (if you count finland as an axis power) got this one off Simpson Ltd for a pretty decent price. It's a series 2 1941 example, un molested in original configuration. Down side being the bolt was cracked in half and shodely rewelded. I ordered a replacement bolt from sarco and got a swedish bolt instead of their pictured correct finnish bolt...but it was cheap enough where I kept it and hatched a plan.
Being the "master machinist" I am I had someone cut the notch for the loaded chamber indicator for me, I then filed down a surface that to be honest I'm not sure exactly what it does, I believe it's to reset the hammer? i added some arrows to show the surface I had addressed with a jewelers file. Regardless I got it so the pistol will lock in battery and I mainly just wanted it so I can cycle the pistol and demonstrate how it works.
Now here's the fun question, how should I proceed keep it a wall hanger and enjoy it as a static piece, take it to the range with the accelerator removed and try some winchester white box, and see if my abomination of a swedish bolt holds up or just try it as is. I'm worried that there are possibly micro cracks in the pistols slide and firing will open them or the swedish bolt will crack.
I know these are notorious for cracking parts but if the readily available swedish bolts can be converted, then maybe there's hope for guns like mine to go back onto the field.
To be honest I've been itching to shoot it. I hate leaving firearms static in the safe.
Fair warning making this post at work on my break, so im missing a few photos and got a bit bored, will add photos of the modified bolt tonight.
