Known Fake holster sells for $230

This is ridiculous, listed as spurious WW2 markings and "we do not think this is original" they know it is a total fake and got some sucker to buy it, hoping it was original?
Even has the post-war "Berlin 1963" type marking ground off the rear.

Listing: Legacy-Collectibles - WW2 German 7.65mm Pistol Holster WWII Party Leader PPK, PP, Waffen Proofed

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/928116297

This is an unusual holster with spurious WW2 markings. We do not think this is an original item - so please see photos and bid accordingly. The holster fits a Walther PPK or similar sized pistol (HSC, M1934, etc). Measures just over 7 inches long when shut, and about 5.25 inches wide. The front leather has a fake Party Leader eagle stamp, and a smaller waffen eagle stamp below that. The back leather has another waffen stamp next to an area of surface scuffing that looks intentional. The leather is aged and has normal signs of aging throughout. No stitching issues.

What a joke. The guy that bought it probably had a pistol to go with it and intends to sell it as an original “set.” Another “party leader” item.

German eBay has many Nazi dies one can purchase to “upgrade” an item. Pathetic.

I'll say this.... if it was listed as is and he called out the nonsense specifically in the description I'll give him a pass.... on this one.

I think so too. If your listing has the words that say that it is a fake……it then becomes the buyer’s issues at that point. Who knows why the buyer may want it? I mean even in the listing it specifically says “WE DO NOT THINK THIS IS AN ORIGINAL ITEM”. Some people are willing to take a gamble that the seller doesn’t know what he has.

Well that's it. I can't think how he could possibly warn people any more? If they still bid it up then that's on them. It's not like he lied to get them to do it.

They should have said, "this is a post-war holster with added markings" They know it is bogus, but put a glimmer of hope saying,"We do not think this is an original". They have seen enough holsters to know this isn't real. I believe they hope a beginning collector will think they made a mistake, and it is real, which is apparently what happened.

Here is another one, "we believe this may be a post war stamp"
