KKW value when drilled and tapped

I'm looking at a KKW for sale in Canada where I live. There is a KKW in not too bad of shape, although it was drilled and tapped. It kinda fits into my plan to get one and put an optic on it to make a sniper type trainer...Your thoughts on its value and potential to put a period correct scope on it. Thanks!

the other issue is the bolt was modified for the low scope. This is more of an Issue IMHO. the holes if filled properly and blended would be almost unnoticeable. The bolt and stock were hacked pretty badly.
Value ?? Hard to say maybe 400-500 usd or one Million Can. ?? :ROFLMAO:

What are you seeing about the bolt on this rifle that shows modification?
And also:
If you had a KKW drilled and tapped like this, what sort of mount would fit?

the bolt was straitened.. to clear the low profile mount and scope. the stock was notched for the bolt handle. Its pretty clear. The rifle could have had a number of different aftermarket mounts added post war.

In my humble opinion, these modifications do not shock me that much.
The general condition seems good to me, it all depends on what you are looking for.
If the price is right and you want to treat yourself, go for it.

if your plan for it would be to scope it, have at it, it’s already lost whatever it will from the mod. Having old eyes, I know I need optics, so in this case you wouldn’t be ‘spoiling’ an otherwise untouched rifle.
(‘forgive me Father, for I have committed the 11th deadly sin, drilling & tapping’)
