Not much to go off with the pictures provided. The stock acceptance and probably stock itself are bogus. Do you have more pictures? Link to the auction?

I have no sent in payment on gun broker yet so...should I email the guy and tell him the rifle is not authentic

I sure wouldn't pay $1000 for it. see if he'll take $400. fairly scarce code. if not then don't pay for it.

..a humped rifle will never be anything else and will always bring discredit to the owner.

Truth. Better to take the 'non-payer' hit on GB and then at least if he posts a negative comment you can rebut that. Going forward it's better to ask first.

LOL. Of course it's 'real'. It's a rifle and it was made at MO. And it has a serial number! What more do you need to know?

The barrel and receiver are the same rifle you just "purchased". This confirms bolt and bands are entirely re-numbed. I would take the GB hit and move on.

That is proof that the seller is the one who faked it.

Around one year ago a naked barreled receiver "duv 42" got sold on Gun Broker, a few months later a seller was offering the same rifle. A miracle happened, suddenly the rifle was complete and matching in all numbers. Look on the seller name in the pics, then you know why I post the Berlin-Lübecker K98k.
