K98 Manufactuers dot vs. JP Sauer

I purchased my first K98 bcd a few weeks ago and am very happy with my purchase. I was looking around and came across a dot K98 & JP Sauer K98. Both are 1944 production and the dot is in a bit better condition with most of the original bluing intact. I was curious which one would be more valuable?

if you were comparing apples to apples the JPS is more sought after. Dot44's seem to be the most common k98 to stumble across. Large amounts made and high survival rate of them. Lots came in un touched in the late 80's early 90's from Samco arms. Condition typically trumps all in collector grade arms. The jps ce44 would have to be considerably worn to win out to a dot44 IMHO.

Are you experienced enough to spot possible fakery or the myriad of possible problems that these rifles might have?
Without photos it not really possible to tell you which is more valuable. If you're talking of manufacturers only, then mauser99 is of course correct, the ce 44 is unquestionably more scarce.

I wish you could get higher quality pictures and more of them, but from these It seems quite possible that the receiver and barrel of the ce44 has been "pimp shined" and that the wood has been refinished. I can't help but get the impression that the dot has had its wood refinished also. From these pics. you can't even be sure if they have their correct matching stocks. These are things that seriously affect the value of both rifles. From the pics only I'd probably choose the dot, but without more info I wouldn't buy either. If you're a shooter you might be happy with them at a fair price if they have excellent bores.

Lol. As soon as I passed the first pic I was ready to tell the OP to run away from Legacy.

Legacy has created a cult following for whatever reason. Best I can tell is that dummies attract more dummies, and before you know it a bunch of factually ignorant and mindless idiots are standing around a circle drooling over humped up crap job rifles like that. They’re “highly collectible”, but only because he says so on YouTube.......

I’m not calling you a dummy though OP, you were smart enough to come here and ask, so it is impossible to categorize you in such a group. Stay away from these fools at Legacy.

Thanks for telling the OP about this Legacy place, I knew nothing about it. Perhaps you've rescued him from making one of these rifles part of his legacy! Pun intended! 🤣
