K98 Bayonet Tropical Frog

Recently added this frog attached to a Carcano bayonet to my collection. Can no longer read the inks stamp to the rear, there but worn. Came from an old estate that collected bayonets, swords and knives, immediately post war and has set untouched since the 80's. Also was able to add a nice German M42 helmet with remains of wire netting, I will post that elsewhere on the site.

The frog looks ok, no problem to switch a italian and german equipment in Africa or Italy, the bayonet M91 is certainly a later- WW2 production. Gnutti 1942. Maybe Slash known from the ink stamp remains who could be maker of the frog.

This is a very nice tropical frog. The marking is W. Eilers jr. > Bielefeld > 1942 for the maker Wilhelm Eilers Jr., Militäreffekten, Bielefeld.

Slash for the win! Had gone thru my copy of A. Carter's "Red Book" of frogs, but could find only three entries for #316 (German tropical):
Friedrich Offermann & Sohne, Bensberg (1942), LAGO, Magdeberg (1942) and contract# 0/6357/6178. I believe the latter comes from the yellow/tan "sandy" variant with green ink stamping.
Have added W. Eilers (1942) to his compendium.
