Here are some pictures of a spare K43, WaA359-proofed, unnumbered bolt group.
I understand that when elliptical cutouts became part of the bolt manufacturing process it created areas of thinness near the tail that could result in a crack of the type pictured. I do not shoot my collectable rifles, but for those who do, I assume a defect of this sort would present a risk - my question: can the crack be repaired, or is this bolt destined to reside in a non-shooter forever?
Thanks,
Ernie
