Hey guys. Wanted to share something I discovered on my matching barreled action. I purchased this probably 14+ years ago. It’s a ce44 matching action that was sitting in a 1943 Mauser Oberndorf Norwegian rework stock with unnumbered late war bands. So essentially it was an Sporter rescue. Eventually I acquired a late war JPS appropriate stock for it but never got around to swapping them until a couple days ago.
Under the rear sight base, I couldn’t help but notice the terrible solder job. As far as I can tell the rear sight base was never removed as I see no evidence of heat spots from a torch, or the famous battered corners of the sight base from hammering off….
What do you guys think? I have only seen this overuse/overspill of solder on my t block bnz45 and svw mb….
