Information on Zeiss Zielklein Scope Sought

I think I'm in the right place to get some information on what
appears to be a 2X scope made by Zeiss Zielklein, it's serial
number 20748. Has elevation adjustment on the top of the
tube, and windage on the mount underneath. This optic was
handed down from my grandfather which I believe he bought
new, by the shape that its in. It also looks like something
precision he would own. The optics are still good and operable
and the lower mount looks factory and complete. Could anyone
here give me an approximate year manufactured, value and any
other background information on it? Much appreciated guys.

Hello,

your scope was made in 1927/28 calender year and is 1 of 799 made that year. If your gandpa bought it in the usa it will have a GERMANY engraving either infornt of rear ocular or under the elevation tower on the left hand side. other wise it probably was brought back from WWII or other NON IMPORT process as all imported sold in USA scopes were marked with the engraving GERMANY by law.
