History of rifle?

Hi everyone I'm also trying to find out as much as possible from my bnz 43 and whether it's a true ss contract rifle. I love this rifle and would never sell it and she also shoots great.

The bolt handle is not a good sign at least not matching I think. We need pics of the receiver ring.

I'll have to take new pics. Files are too big to upload. If I remember after work I'll take new ones
There is only two more ways your rifle could be SS and that's if it's a Radom production receiver that was diverted from the army contracts to the SS contract. (See link below)
The font is smaller than Gusen receivers but there is one variant seen where it was made with a large font (Gusen) receiver but did also have a single rune on it. Unless your rifle is marked with a SSZZA4 on the barrel then it's not part of the SS contract.

To clarify, SSZZA4 marked rifles are builds from the 4th SS depot. Check out our picture reference section and scroll down to the Steyr section till you see single rune, SS or SSZZA4.

try emailing those pics to yourself, that usually shrinks them enough to post here. because the site archives photos
‘forever’ there are limits on image size. It would be great if you started your own thread, so folks can comment on each of these rifles separately, on their own features.

Certainly could use more photos, but what I see so far is promising. Serial number on barrel, no suffix. Floor plate numbered and trigger guard not. Looks like no top final inspection.

As mentioned, I suspect bolt is mismatched.
