Gunbroker Help?

Hi -

Saw this on Gunbroker and can’t figure out why it doesn’t have more attention - is it not correct markings/configuration or is the interest just low? From what little I know it looks okay to me…

What I mean is that I too am pretty new to Mausers and in short order I've learned it can be a real minefield, especially at today's prices. Better to do the homework, read, ask questions, learn about them before paying out large numbers on something you'll regret.
 
I wouldn't call this junk or minimal collector value. Maybe if you're looking for a WW2 mauser it's junk but it's collectible in its own right as a post-war produced mauser. Not $1500 nice but not worth insulting the rifle. The real junk is the RTI ones of these from Ethiopia.

Ya, wasn't that on gunboards? I remember that thread. Not the first to ask how they did after a purchase and won't be the last person to do so. At least now asking ahead of time.
 
Minefield for sure it is. Way too much dishonesty with false claims or outright bullshit. Sellers figure often unknowledgeable buyers will pay high amounts without putting in the time to acquire knowledge.

I agree! The scrubbed receiver alone kills the value for most! o_O 🤪 :cry:(n)

Total junk, not worth even near the asking price. Someone should try to contact the bidders so they can withdrawal their bid, maybe they will get lucky and see this thread.
 
Another thing that pisses me off with this and other auctions is the 'All matching' listed in the title. While that is technically true the seller is being more than a little disingenuous as I'm sure he knows this isn't 'correct'. An RC and a MM are also 'all matching' and just as original.
