Gew98 Sniper identification

Hey guys!

I've obtain some while ago the following rifle:

It's in a poor shape but the groove is clearly visible and lugs are ok (fired 10 rounds of S&B). Optics are very clear.
The only thing I know is that it had a repair at Danzig factory (polish eagle on the chamber).
Unfortunately I don't know the manufacturer.

Would you guy be so kind and tell me what U think about it (omitting the shape )?

Polish rework? An ugly Gew98 sniper is better than none. I will let others comment with more knowledge.

The difference in tone is my fault ... I've dumped it in a rust remover.

I'm not sure on what to think of this rifle .. everything and everywhere heavily rust pitted, except for the rear scope base, which also has milling in front of it (where the stripper clip adapter is located). @Amberg , what do you think of that one?
