German Paratrooper Gravity Blade question

I have a chance to buy this one and am in uncharted waters. What do you guys think of this, original WWII?
Value? There's also a 3-digit number on the underside of the release but my photographic skills with a phone are terrible.
I appreciate your input.

Looks okay to me. I see no issues. Just make sure the spring for the lever is in good shape. These tend to fracture in the area of the rivet.

Any idea on value since it has Vets name carved into the wood?

Assuming both springs are not broken you’re in the 600 - 800 range for these. Also depends on blade condition, has it been reshaped etc. blade looks okay but can’t tell for sure with these pictures. Springs are repairable, I know a guy who does fantastic work, but it’s $150 a spring and 3-12 months for turn around.
