Is there a way to confirm that this one was used by the German army? I believe it is because
(The gun has been refinished and reblued sadly)
Bolt mismatch and the serial number is not from any Port. Contract k98, which apparently a bolt mismatch is common among German k98
Serial number is G17534 which is in the area in which some were diverted
Barrel band has been replaced with a different serial number
Front sight hood is missing
Steel buttplate does not have a Portuguese cross, maybe this means it was replaced?
No import stamp, I know it doesn’t mean much but still
The last picture with the number 4S1Z I think? I can’t tell what it says or means and I don’t see it on other port. Contract rifles I’ve seen
Bore has little rust spots throughout, maybe a sign of heavier use rather than sitting in storage in Portugal?
stock and handguard are also not matching
I feel like there's to many things going on on the rifle for it have been one of the ones sent to portugal and kept in storage forever.
Is it safe to say that this is one of the diverted ones?
